Raising Awareness in the Community

Bawso delivers awareness sessions in black and minoritised communities on harmful cultural and traditional practices.

These are attended by women and girls, men and boys, and broach the impact and injustice of practices such as female genital mutilation, honour-based violence, domestic abuse, and all forms of brutality.

Sessions are designed to equip communities with the knowledge and information they need to challenge harmful practices and to change attitudes that allow abuse to continue and go unreported.
