Bawso is implementing a project in Kenya, Africa in partnership with Christian Partners Development Agency (CPDA) funded by the Welsh Government through the Wales Centre for Voluntary Action (WCVA), Wales for Africa programme. The project aims to create awareness in the community on violence against women and girls. The project works with young girls who are at increased risk of violence from families, peers and the community. The project builds the capacity of young girls between the ages of 12 and 20 who have dropped out of school early due to pregnancy. Wales for Africa helps girls rebuild their lives by learning IT skills and uses social media to raise awareness about violence against women and girls.
Our partners (CPDA) use storytelling and different forms of preforming arts to change people’s mindset and perceptions on gender-based violence.
In Wales, Bawso works with schools to raise awareness on violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence. These interactive sessions inform young people in Wales about all forms of violence against women and girls and promote healthy relationships.
